ABOUT BRET PRICE
Bret Price is a contemporary sculptor of monumental steel. Throughout his career, Price has been interested in the challenges of raw material against the forces of nature, first beginning his explorations in clay and gradually working up in size and complexity to reach heights of 35 feet and weighing up to 7.5 tons. Whether the work is large or small, Bret’s focus is to convey an unexpected sense of movement and balance.
Price has been collected into public and private collections throughout the United States, Europe and Asia, notably the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Pepsico Collection in New York.

The Documentary: Art In the Middle
Monumental abstract steel sculpture in the middle of Ohio farmland? What could go wrong? “Art in the Middle” documents the unlikely relationship between California sculptor, Bret Price and the town of New Bremen, Ohio. The film follows the creation of a 5 ton sculpture titled “Amore”, the last piece in a series completed for a year long sculpture exhibition at the Dayton Art Institute in Dayton, Ohio.
Price has a knack for involving many of the local residents in the art making process, creating controversy and art along the way.
